We wrote to you earlier this year with details of the regional meetings we’re holding in 6 locations across the country – an opportunity to hear what’s new with the Scheme, chat with the Trustees and catch up with fellow members. These meetings were due to take place in October. After careful consideration we’ve changed the meeting dates to November and December. This is to allow the Trustees to focus their efforts on engaging with the Government to secure fair and equal treatment for BCSSS members.
As you know, the Trustees have asked the Government to:
- agree to transfer the whole of the £2.3 billion investment reserve to members as soon as possible this year, and
- make a commitment to review how any future surplus is shared.
The Trustees continue to undertake a significant amount of work in this respect, including writing to and meeting with many MPs and Sarah Jones, the Minister for State and Industry.
Our aim is to resolve the injustice for BCSSS members as soon as possible this year.
We’re sorry that the change of dates will affect your plans if you were due to attend a meeting in October. If you’ve already registered to attend a meeting, we’ll write to you separately with the new details of the time and location of your regional meeting, which can also be found below. We will keep your place reserved and you only need to contact us if you do not want to attend the new date.
